Senior Java Developer- Software Engineer

Job Description

Senior, hands-on development who is passionate about technology and has experience developing high performance transaction or reporting systems with large databases and multi-tier architectures; is a team player and knows how to contribute as part of a distributed and diversified global team.

The candidate will be responsible for application development supporting the Custody and Fund Services line of business supporting a strategic initiative to improve the operational and customer service capabilities of the firm.
She/he will have responsibility for unit-level design, coding, unit testing, and integration testing while participating in the full SDLC. The candidate must have a sound grasp of development best practice and system architecture. She/he will be expected to produce high-quality that can pass critical peer review, and to work under a high-pressure and timeline-driven environment. The program involves using leading-edge technologies to transform accounting and reporting processes to industrial strength processing platforms.
Deep technical knowledge and the ability to communicate ideas is an integral part of the role, and as such the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the technical areas required for the project, and should possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Candidate will be expected to develop her/his skills similar to a ‘T’ shaped developer with a core strength but also develop a broad understanding of the business model being supported and the multiple sets of technologies used to deliver the business to the client.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years experience building mission-critical enterprise applications, with a proven delivery track record.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrates exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to follow complex design and development standards.
  • Experience working in multi-time zone development team.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Experience building high volume systems with real-time performance and read and write capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of Java, data structures, concurrency and multi-threading, run time VM, garbage collection, web-based request handling, servlets and filters in J2EE, and distributed architecture.
  • Expert OO analysis and design skills.
  • Experience developing with Oracle, Sybase or any other major RDBMS.
  • Experience with real-time, event-driven systems and service-oriented architectures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise messaging systems, including message queues and pub/sub is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking concepts and/or securities back office processing helpful.

Senior SAP ABAP Software Engineer (MM)

Job Title

Job Responsibilities Senior SAP ABAP Software Engineer (MM) How this role will make an impact: The developer role will enhance, improve, and develop on the SAP MM platform. As part of the Application Development Team, this person will collaborate with Solution Managers, Architects and Developers to produce high quality solutions to support PetSmart business.The Developerwill also be responsible for communicating and mentoring other members of the team. The developer will execute the build, test and deployment of the solution to ensure it meets design specification and ultimately the business requirements. Your goals and responsibilities will include: SAP technical expert to develop code/manage/configure MM.

Creates/oversees completion of technical configuration and development specifications Works closely with Application Analysts to identify gaps between business requirements, functional design and standard SAP application capabilities and negotiates resolution Develops solutions with an understanding of large volume processes/processing and a deep understanding of performance impacts, best practices and approaches Works in collaboration with Application analysts and cross functional IS and business teams to design and develop solutions based on business requirements Conducts Unit testing and supports all QA and UAT efforts through application readiness, preparation of test environments, creation of data and user profiles, etc Works directly with other SAP developers on requirements, design and code reviews Leverages latest coding standards (Object oriented) and techniques in SAP Development but also be able to change/read existing ABAP code. Creates technical design for new projects and enhancements to existing projects within SAP IS Retail Solution Deploys software changes, regulatory updates, and change requests with appropriate test and back out plans for highly complex changes Work on multiple concurrent projects, meet business expectations, influence outcomes and maintain stated timelines Strong experience in working with Articles, Price and Purchase orders preferred in the SAP Retail environment. What you’ll bring to the table: BA/BS Degree in IT, MIS or business related functional disciple. Code Development in SAP experience, preferably in the MM and merchandising areas.

Minimum 9 years hands-on experience on SAP Development using ABAP Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in procedural ABAP or OO ABAP as well as development in WebDynpro applications Expert level experience in implementing projects in SAP by leveraging one or more of the following: Middleware Integration with SAP ABAP Workbench ABAP Objects ALE, BAPI, BADI’s, IDOCs, BDC and ALV Programming RFC calls EDI integrations in the full System Development Life Cycle Expert level experience using SAP ABAP programming tools including Report and Transaction creation, Interfaces, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, SAPscript, and SmartForms, Screen Painter BDC, LSMW, enhancing User Exits Ability to address short term tactical requirements without losing site of the longer range strategic direction Strong functional business process expertise in IS SAP Retail About our IT team: We’re growing at a faster pace than we ever have before, investing heavily in cutting-edge technology and, more importantly, our people.
